Privacy policy

Family CEO is an assistant that runs inside WhatsApp and helps you manage family life. This policy explains what data it handles, why, where it is stored, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are

What we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, phone number, and the household details you enter in the profile form — family members, schools, routines, and similar context.
- The content of your WhatsApp messages to the service, including any documents or photographs you send it.
Information from Google, if you connect it
Connecting Google is optional. If you do, we request read-only access to:
- Google Calendar — to tell you what is coming up and to include events in your morning briefing.
- Gmail — to identify messages that need your attention, such as school communications, and surface them to you.
We do not send email on your behalf, create or alter calendar events, or read anything beyond what is needed to produce the briefings and answers you have asked for.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Family CEO Ltd's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically: we do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the service or where required by law, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit permission, for security purposes, to comply with the law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymised.
How we use it
- To generate your morning briefing and answer the questions you ask.
- To send the reminders you have asked for.
- To remember context between conversations so you do not have to repeat yourself.
- To fix problems and improve how the service works.
We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Who processes it
Running the service means a small number of suppliers handle data on our behalf:
- Twilio — delivers messages to and from WhatsApp.
- Meta (WhatsApp) — operates the messaging platform itself, under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Anthropic — provides the AI model that generates responses. Message content is sent to it for that purpose.
- Supabase — stores your profile, memory, reminders, and access tokens.
- Railway — hosts the application.
Where it is stored and for how long
Data is stored on servers within the UK or European Economic Area where our suppliers offer it, and otherwise under appropriate safeguards for international transfers. We keep your data for as long as you use the service, and delete it within 30 days of your asking us to.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. To do any of these, email dana@familyceo.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
You can disconnect Google at any time, either by asking the assistant or at your Google account permissions page. Disconnecting stops all further access immediately, and we delete the stored tokens.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Access tokens and personal data are held in an access-controlled database. Connections are encrypted in transit. Only the operator of the service has administrative access.
Children
Family CEO is for adults running a household. It is not intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect data directly from them. Parents may naturally include details about their own children in the context they give the assistant; that information is treated with the same care as everything else here.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in WhatsApp before it takes effect.
